California has been a major player in the world of cannabis for years now. With over twenty marijuana businesses licensed to operate in the state, there is always something new to learn about them.

Some of these companies have gone beyond traditional plant-based diet and green building standards and implemented efforts to protect the environment and people who live in it. These include water recycling programs, community gardens, and low-cost public transportation systems.

Some have only implemented limited or no access toregation, while others have extremely high levels of access. Regardless of how limited or extensive the cannabis industry’s control unitandship is at the top, it is clear that they are trying to influence policies and practices that affect them negatively and positively alike.

Marijuana cultivation and sustainability

Cannabis and Sustainability: California's Pioneering Efforts in Eco-Friendly Practices

In the early 1900s, California was known for its extensive farming, with fields full of all sorts of crops. However, in the late 1800s and early 1900s, when marijuana was a main crop, large amounts of land were bought and occupied. This led to greater conservation efforts in the years that followed as new lands were purchased and old ones re-assigned.

By the late 1800s and early 1900s, large cannabis plantations were a common sight in California. These plantations likely lasted for several decades before being replaced by more sustainable techniques or newer lands being acquired.

Today, cannabis cultivation is done on more advanced techniques such as irrigation systems and power production machines. These methods do not require such heavy use of energy, which helps decrease how much trees and water sources are used.

How cannabis grows affect the environment

Growing plants is an art, and there are some rules to follow. Depending on where you live, there may be different rules for plant rights and regulations for crop production.

Cannabis plants need room to grow. This is because you are using growing techniques such as hydroponics or transplanting to obtain your plant. With hydroponics, water is the sole source of nourishment for the plant.

In contrast, conventional soil cultivation has a fixed amount of nutrients needed to grow a plant. With only one source of energy (light), plants need more careful watching in order to ensure sufficient growth.

Hydro-pot grown cannabis does not require regular watering as it gets water via evaporation from the roots down into the ground.

Use of renewable energy

California is a leader in the use of renewable energy. This is an area where deregulation has allowed for more competition and innovation, which has led to more efficient designs.

Most of California’s energy usage is generated by geothermal power, with wind being a small part. Geothermal power is expensive, costing up to $8 per kilowatt hour of electricity.

At $8 per kwh, it is one of the more expensive sources of electricity. However, if the user was paying only $3 per kwh, then it would be cheaper!

Another source of renewable energy that California uses is wind power. Both on land and sea, they seek out as much wind as possible to ensure they have enough power.

Cannabis grown using sustainable practices

Today, California is home to the largest cannabis system in the United States, consisting of more than 600 licensed growers and producing an average of 120 marijuana plants per licensed operator. The system is designed to be self-sufficient with regards to water, solar power, and other supplies.

Many of these growers use techniques such as hydroponic cultivation, vertical farming, and agro-production. Some even use non-plant material sources like bacteria or fungi.

Of the several design features that contribute to sustainability in the cannabis system such as buildouts, cooling units, and irrigation systems, none have received more attention than gravity irrigation. All of these features rely on natural forces such as gravity to keep plants hydrated and healthy.

This has contributed to lower environmental impacts in the system than with some designs that require human intervention. With all these features in place, cannabis production is being taken into account in ways that are cost effective.

Educate consumers about the effects of their consumption habits

Studies show that cannabis can be visited as a dietary option. Many people are aware of the medical benefits of it, but they are not always aware of this alternative to coffee or nutritional qualities.

Many CBD products now contain scant amounts of CBD, making it difficult to determine if it has any appreciable amount of THC. This can make it difficult to determine if an oil or product is truly CBD-dominant and/or THC-dominant.

There are several ways to consume cannabis, but the most common is to use an oil or product. Some people prefer the ease of this method due to its low cost and simplicity. Others feel that there is less result from using an oil than taking a pill or patch due to its shorter durationof action.

Another way to take cannabis is in a tablet or patch. Taking the oil or pill/patch in the morning and evening makes this one way to avoid concentrated drug treatment in session alone.

Get your green gone green

While most countries in the world have removed electric cars from their product lines, it is still hard for them to compete with gasoline vehicles in mainstream adoption.

Electric cars are expensive and usually require a well-established infrastructure to be utilized. However, this can be a double-edged sword as it creates more work for employees and administrators to manage and utilize the car as part of their daily operations.

By having a cannabis cultivation method that is green gone green, Canada is showing others how easy it can be to adopt sustainable cultivation methods. By using LED lighting and automatic irrigation systems, these settings can be turned on and off with a button or software application which means no long training needed.
